How to sauna and steam

Knowing how best to ‘Take A Sauna’ will help you get the most out of your visit to our Vitality Spa. It’s important to shower both before and after your sauna and steam room experience; it helps keeps the spa environment clean as well as aids your skin in washing away toxins. (PDF How to take a Sauna) Always sit on a towel! Drink plenty of water while in the sauna & steam room.

Breathe deeply and slowly while adjusting to the high heat. Stretch or gently massage any painful areas. When you are ready to exit the heat you can take a cold plunge or cool rinse, or you can cool gradually after leaving the steam room or sauna. Take at least 10-20 minutes to cool down, rest and rehydrate before you take another round. Heat up, Cool down, RELAX. Welcome home to your gorgeous self! Listen to your body and if you feel light headed or faint, move slowly and tell someone so you may be assisted. There are contraindications for using heated rooms and pools such as pregnancy, high blood pressure and others so please check with your doctor prior to use.
